AEW frenzy (February 18, 2022) sprang from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The Slam Dunk Show featured Adam Cole as a cheater, Will Hobbs and Dante Martin cooked Team Taz beef, as well as made a ring debut for “Switchblade” Jay White.
Let’s go straight with a summary of the presentation followed by the feedback.
Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks, and Chris Jericho commented. Justin Roberts has taken over as the ring announcer.
Adam Cole vs 10
10 broke into the ring ready to smash Cole. The huge man stretched the little man until the little man chased after the huge man’s leg. Cole went on to work on a ten’s knee using the ring shaft, ring steps, and ropes to do massive damage. Twisting a 10’s knee frequently for the rest of the game.
10 He was still able to count on strength to make him competitive with the spinebuster.
Cole’s attempts at the Panama Sunrise were thwarted by dropping his back and spear. 10 went on to get the full Nelson a few times and eventually closed it tight on the fourth try. While still in the surrender, Cole stopped referee Aubrey Edwards in the corner to block the view of his mule kick. Cole cut the boom with a knee kick for victory. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly celebrated on stage with the winner.
Adam Cole defeated 10.
The Face of Revolution Qualifier: Will Hobbs vs. Dante Martin
Hobbs crushed Martin for most of the match and threw him in and out of the ring. Powerhouse wore down the speedster. In the end, Martin rallied with a great European springboard. Hobbs was knocked out of the ring, so Martin chased after a key attack.
Back inside the ring, Martin called a touchdown kick. Hobbs was expelled from the cover. When Martin tried to get an Irish whip, Hobbs exploded for a thunderbolt to the spine. 1, 2, 3. p-strength.
Will Hobbs defeated Dante Martin.
Hobbs joins Keith Lee and Wardlow in a Ladder Match against Revolution.
Jade Cargill wanted to know who her next competitor in the TBS Championship was. Matt Hardy suggested the rabbit as a coin match. The competition became official later next week frenzy.
Serena Depp vs. Angelica Risk
The professor played with her opponent before locking in with a powerbomb and Serenity Lock to win the 2:05 of the Five Minute Challenge.
Serena Depp defeated Angelica Risk.
Mark Henry interviewed the main event participants. Jay White enters AEW’s forbidden door, because a man like him can do whatever he wants. White plans to dispose of Trent as a bona fide act for Adam Cole, Young Bucks, and the rest of the elite. Trent replied that he would shut the forbidden door in White’s face. Enough talking. Henry concluded, “It’s time for the main event!”
In the match announcement part of the program, tag teams have been turned into battle royale dynamite They include Alex Reynolds & John Silver, 2point0, Santana & Ortiz, Young Bucks, FTR, Private Party, reDRagon, Gunn Club, Butcher & Blade and Best Friends. The winner advances to a trio with Jurassic Express for the tag titles.
Sami Guevara will defend the TNT Championship against Andrade on frenzy next week. After Andrade stole Sami’s titles, AEW must make another one so Sami can hold three belts when he gets them all back.
to me Revolution PPV, Hangman vs. Cole for the AEW World Championship and Dr. Brett Baker DMD vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s Championship officially.
“Switchblade” Jay White vs. Trent
Fierce fighting extended outward early on. Once the contenders were back in the ring, White took control by outwitting Trent on the ropes.
Switchblade followed with suplex on the apron. Trent was feeling pain in his lower back. White continued the attack by surrendering Mota Lock.
As the match progressed, Trent charged with a spear, but White parried a knee kick to the head.
Then suplex White Trent on an open chair on the floor. Ouch!
The match broke out and was turned into handcuffs in the middle of the ring. Trent got the edge on with a strong lariat and barge. White refused to lose. When Trent went to the strong zero finish, White smoothly grappled the transition for the Blade Runner win.
Jay White defeated Trent.
Next, White mocked Orange Cassidy before walking out.
The main event was rock and roll. If the commentary didn’t say it was the first singles match between “Switchblade” Jay White and Trent, I’d never guess. White and Trent shared great chemistry. It helped them that they were familiar as opponents to the team. The Switchblade lives up to its reputation. His dazzling charisma sparkled with amusing demeanor as he moved like silk. Trent stopped his end of the bargain by fighting with fire in his stomach and taking the hard bumps.
Will Hobbs’ victory over Dante Martin was a real surprise to me, and I love it. AEW loves having the good guys win controversies. Plus, Martin can tear down the house in a ladder match in PPV. That’s part of what made this finding shocking. Hobbs needed this win to avoid becoming a springboard. Martin will be fine going forward. He is young and will easily sway crowd support with his electrified flight.
As a fan of boar fights, I now hope it’s all meat for the Revolution Showdown Ladder Match. Keith Lee Wardlow and Hobbs must be joined by men of their ilk, such as Brian Cage, Miro, Lance Archer, and Brody King. It will definitely be an interesting experience to see how you will play an overall ladder match.
Adam Cole’s work and 10 smart matches. Cole was overwhelmed by the power of ten, so he used his wits to finally beat the number 10. With Cole on the back of the Hangman Page and the AEW World Championship, I wasn’t sold that Cole had a chance. It’s important for Cole to build momentum to make fans believe a change of title can happen in Revolution. The first half of this match convinced me a bit. Cole was ruthless chasing the knee. This same strategy would be effective on a Hangman as well, since the cowboy’s initial moves rely on the lower body to stun a Buckshot and Deadeye piledriver. In the second half of the match, Cole got into trouble and resorted to cheating. There are levels for this game, and 10 are not at the level of Hangman. Cole needs to rise to be more dominant against this caliber of opponent before the PPV. Cole’s bag of cheating tricks can be a great equalizer, so the hangman must be prepared.
Grade: B +
frenzy It was fun and went off smoothly. She had a good variety of matches with brains versus muscle, speed versus strength, and a slugfest main event.
