Johnny Depp plans to make an official TV series after his comeback Showdown victory in the courtroom With ex-wife Amber Heard – new album with guitar god Jeff Beck.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has already joined rock band Hi Ho Silver Lining for a string of high-profile concerts in the UK – even Missing court ruling He was defamed by his ex-wife.
The hard-living Depp, 58, didn’t mention his $10 million win during his last appearance at Gateshead – but his friend Beck did mention it, according to the BBC, which quoted him as saying, “What a result.”
The guitar maestro then revealed what the Hollywood star will do next — angering audiences about the upcoming album as they gush about their friendship.
“I met this guy five years ago and we haven’t stopped laughing since,” Beck told the audience, according to the BBC.
“We’ve already made an album. I don’t know how it happened. It’s coming out in July,” he said.
The pair actually released their first single as a duo, a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation,” in April, calling themselves “musical soulmates.”
At the time, Beck explained that they had “been working on music together for a while”.
“You’ll hear more from Johnny and I in a little while,” was an unheard of Yardbird fan at the time.
Depp increasingly turned his back on Hollywood to focus on music – calling it his first love – and most famously Hollywood Vampires with Aerosmith’s Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
He was clearly “having fun” on Thursday’s show, James Pallister, a Beck fan, told the BBC.
“He looked really happy. He seemed to be in a great place,” he said. “The crowd was behind him and I think he gave people what they wanted to see.”
Mia Wright, 28, told the broadcaster that she only got tickets for the concert after seeing the actor in town and likely to appear.
“I’ve been a huge fan of him since I was 10,” she said. “It’s mind boggling that he’s here.”
However, not all fans of the show were fans.
“Jeff Beck was excellent,” Nick Rowe, 64, told the BBC.
“The thing that spoiled all night was the talented Mr. Depp. He was at one point like a drunken pub singer. I don’t know what Jeff Beck is thinking,” he said of the legendary rocker, considered by many to be the greatest guitarists of all time.
Seven Virginia jurors ruled in favor of Depp on Wednesday on all three allegations of an opinion piece in the Washington Post that Hurd wrote of becoming a “public figure representing domestic violence” after the couple separated.
The verdict sealed a six-week trial filled with allegations of abuse by both sides.
