Apple is set to unveil new MacBook Pro models on Tuesday, January 17.
Multiple reports point to the tech giant making an announcement with Bloomberg’s usually reliable Mark Gurman. Recommends The M2 chip is finally coming to Apple’s 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops.
Gurman first reported in October that Apple was making new MacBook Pros with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, but a release date was unknown at the time. Apple introduced the M2 chip in June 2022 and the 13-inch model is currently the only MacBook Pro laptop. The only other Apple laptop with an M2 chip 2022 MacBook Air.
Gurman said Apple will hold press conferences “later this week,” with restrictions lifted on Monday, January 23, and allowing reviewers to share their first thoughts on the new products.
Citing various sources, other media outlets — including Mac Rumors and 9to5Mac — also reported that Apple plans to make the announcement via the newsroom section of its website on Tuesday. If that happens, check Apple’s YouTube channel, where it might drop new videos highlighting its latest MacBook Pro models.
To be clear, today’s announced release does not include touchscreen MacBooks Apple is rumored to be in the works. In fact, the physical design of the new MacBook Pros is identical to their predecessors.
A report a few days ago suggested Apple May launch new M2 models at its Worldwide Developers Conference event in June, but today’s development suggests something will happen today. If you do, you are sure to share news on digital trends.
