Daily Harvest, a food delivery service, issued a statement referring to “French lentils + crumbled shallots” after receiving customer reports of products causing digestive issues.
The Daily Harvest published a link to the statement on its social media pages.
Daily Harvest’s recall statement read: “We have taken immediate steps to address what we have heard from customers, reaching out to everyone who has obtained French Lentil + Leek Crumbles, and asking them to dispose of the product and not to ingest it. We have simultaneously launched an investigation with internal and external experts across all throughout our supply chain and in accordance with regulatory procedures. We will share more information as it becomes available.”
Multiple complaints surfaced on Reddit with a consumer saying his wife spent two days in the hospital with liver damage after eating “French Harvest’s French Lentil + Leek Crumbles.”
Another consumer complaint on Reddit said they took French “Lentil + Leek Crumbles” about two weeks ago and experienced “debilitating stomach pains.”
A third post reported that their mother “was sick like a dog and vomited a lot” in the morning after eating the recalled product.
As of the publication of this article, there has been no published FDA recall or any disease report on the FDA’s Outbreak Investigation Page.
