In a Facebook post, the Jackson City Police Department thanked Ms. Joan Oliver for her “honesty and benevolence”.
On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Jackson Police were called to Mrs. Oliver’s workplace [gone] to a local restaurant on her lunch break and back to work to enjoy her lunch. When she opened her lunch and removed her sandwiches, I was surprised to find $543.10 in cash under her sandwich.”
She continued, “After investigating the discovery, it was determined that the restaurant’s daily deposit had been mistakenly placed in her sandwich bag. According to WSB-TV, the grandmother had visited 3rd Street location of the fast food giant.
The money was enough to pay the electricity bills, and her husband had a stroke and was battling cancer.

Oliver told the station that Family faces medical bills They totaled about $2 million.
She admitted that she thought about going shopping “for a second.”
“If you don’t do the right thing it will come back to you,” Oliver said. “I mean, it wasn’t mine. I didn’t need to keep it. I’ll have mine in the future.”
Kentucky Fried Chicken reportedly refunded Oliver paid for her lunch and gave her a free meal.
