Houston Texans host Ovaldi High School football team in season opener

The Houston Texans invited the Uvalde High School football team to be their guests for the team’s opening game against the Indianapolis Colts at NRG Stadium on September 11th.

Texas, along with supermarket chain HEB, provides Team Uvalde with transportation to the stadium as well as the wings of the game.

The Texas team visited Yuvaldi and spent time with the soccer team as they prepared to open their home Friday night. Among the Texas squad were CEO Cal McNair, Vice President Hannah McNair, head coach Luffy Smith, and linebacker Christian Kirksey And the Camo Groger Hillalong with sports medicine director Roland Ramirez, who attended nearby Robb Elementary School.

The group has spent the past two days with Uvalde and has provided the soccer team with new Nike uniforms.

Texans previously announced that they will wear “Uvalde Strong” badges on their helmets against the Colts.

19 children and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School on May 24 in the deadliest school shooting in Texas history. In the days following the shooting, Texans donated $400,000 to the Rob Skoll Memorial Fund, while Texans contributed $200,000.
