Removes live Twitter sharing feature from Microsoft Xbox consoles •

Microsoft is quietly removing the ability for Xbox users to upload gameplay clips directly to Twitter from their consoles.

Instead of going directly to Twitter, users who are testing the latest dashboard update for the console should instead upload footage via the “Mobile Sharing” option for Xbox’s Game TVR. Windows Central)

Other apps in this category include Facebook and Instagram.

This means that Xbox users will have the option to test this latest console update by first uploading the Gameplay clips to their phones.

Later, they can upload the footage to their Twitter feed from their phone.

It is not clear why Microsoft is changing this feature and rolling out the process further. Windows Central assumes that using its API may be due to lower usage or higher Twitter charges, but at this point it is only speculation.
