Vampire Survivors 0.7.3 has a secret character (it’s a tree)

I haven’t played much Vampire survivors, but I know that navigating, dodging enemies, and running are key parts of the game. So it’s odd that surprise hit’s latest secret character, just added in its latest beta update, is a fruit tree that doesn’t move. But don’t be fooled: This tree is shockingly good at killing shit.

Anyone can sign up for the game’s public beta branch to learn about upcoming features and changes, such as The latest indie game update, 0.7.3. This update adds new weapons, arcanas, and some characters.

One of those new playable survivors is… *check notes twice* uh… a tree. It’s not just a tree, but a magic tree It bears some nice looking fruits.

The actual name of the tree is Peppino And like trees in real life, they don’t move. However, unlike trees in real life (well in my neck in the woods at least), Peppino is able to use spells, abilities, and items to fight off waves of enemies. It also has the ability to absorb nearby gems when dropped. What this all means is that the tree stays stationary in the middle of the map surrounded by a large circular aura that kills most things when you get too close.

Before you can play with this new secret tree, you will need to unlock it. To do this, you will first have to “use Heavenly Dust to heal plants in Il Molise with a total of 100,000 HP.” If you don’t know what that means or how to do it – hi! – Don’t worry, people online are already uploading Easy-to-follow tutorials guide you through the process.
