Madison – No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers (24-5 overall, 15-4 Big Ten) hosted eighth place Bordeaux boilers (24-6 overall, 13-6 Big Ten) Tuesday night in the fourth of the top ten games played in Madison. With the win, the Badgers will earn at least a share of the regular season title from the Big Ten after being selected to finish 10th in the conference during the pre-season.
Purdue had the hot hand early on, connecting to multiple triple pointers to take the lead early on. Matt Painter’s game plan was to get someone other than Johnny Davis to defeat him, and to some extent, it worked. Davis and Brad Davison were uniting for one field goal in the first half, but it was Chucky Hepburn who stepped up and stole the show.
The rookie guard played great basketball on both sides of the field, leading the Badgers with 11 first-half points and steals. Tyler Wahl added nine points and Sarkan on his own.
Chucky Hepburn is a detained man.

Throughout the first half, Greg Jard earned valuable minutes from Ben Carlson, Chris Vogt, Jahkobi Neith and Jordan Davis giving UW 33-28 the lead in the first half.
Wisconsin expanded its lead to as high as 11 in the second half before going cold with Chucky Hepburn off the bench due to a bad problem. The Badgers missed seven shots in a row and over that period, Purdue went on a 14-2 run to score a single point lead.
As they have done all season in tight matches, the Badgers responded in large part due to Tyler Wahl’s playing. The young man finished his team with 19 points.
With the game on the line, Badgers and Boilermakers continued to trade baskets, keeping the game in one possession. Led by one point, Jonny Davis tried to attract contact with a deep two point jump shot, and he couldn’t do it…but the bank was opened. Of course, Jaden Ivey got down to the ground and tied the match up with three of his team.
Jared chose not to take a timeout, and as I said, the bank was opened. Chuckie Hepburn had his moment. The new student came off the field and managed to win a match, which he won three times with 1.5 seconds remaining. goosebumps.
The team selected to finish 10th in the Big Ten earned a share of the regular season title. Sunday’s win, and the Badgers win it right away. It doesn’t get much better than this.
